Liposuction or lipofilling is ideal for people who suffer from stubborn fat deposits in certain areas of their body, even after a healthy diet and regular exercise. It is not a solution for obesity or a substitute for weight loss.
Ideally, candidates for liposuction should have a stable weight, be physically healthy, not smoke and have realistic expectations about what the procedure can achieve. In Belgium, you can undergo liposuction from the age of 18.

Before the procedure takes place, we schedule a consultation with the aesthetic surgeon. During this consultation, we discuss your wishes and expectations, your medical history and any risks in order to prepare everything properly.
The treatment is usually done under local or general anaesthesia, depending on the size of the area and your preference. The surgeon makes small incisions at strategic points around the area to be treated. A thin, hollow tube (cannula) connected to a vacuum pump or syringe is inserted through these incisions to suck out the fat.
After removing the excess fat, the incisions are carefully closed.
After treatment, pressure bandages or elastic clothing are applied to reduce swelling and ensure the skin fits nicely to your new contours.
