What is breast augmentation?
Do you dream of fuller breasts or want to restore the volume you have lost? In breast augmentation, we use silicone prostheses to make those wishes a reality. Breast augmentation, also known as augmentation mammoplasty, is a cosmetic procedure that allows us to increase the size, shape and fullness of your breasts. This is done by inserting breast implants or silicone prostheses.

What kind of breast prostheses are there?
Breast prostheses come in different types, depending on their content, shape and surface area. Each type comes in various sizes, so we can always find something that fits you perfectly.
The outside of each breast prosthesis is always made of silicone. This body-friendly material is well tolerated and has been successfully used in all kinds of medical applications for many years. The content consists of cohesive silicone gel, which ensures a natural feel. The shape of the prosthesis is round and flexible, which makes your breasts look natural when you stand upright.
Dr Decoene will be happy to discuss all options with you, including the pros and cons of each type of implant. Together, you will choose the prosthesis that best suits your needs and body.
Breast augmentation is ideal for women who are not completely satisfied with the natural size or shape of their breasts. Breast augmentation involves inserting a prosthesis to give your breasts more volume. This is done through a small incision under the breast and under full anaesthesia. The prostheses are inserted behind the pectoral muscle to minimise the risk of capsular contracture.
Everything starts with a consultation with the surgeon. Together you will discuss your wishes and expectations. The surgeon explains what types of implants there are, the different shapes (round or anatomical), and the possible placements (behind the pectoral muscle or directly behind the breast tissue).
Before the operation, your breasts and the surrounding area are thoroughly cleaned. You will then be given a general anaesthetic so that you do not notice anything about the procedure.
The surgeon makes an incision at the agreed location, such as the base of the breast, around the nipple, or in the armpit. The implant is then inserted. The whole procedure takes about 1 hour.
Finally, the incisions are neatly stitched, and your path to feeling fuller and more confident begins!

After a breast lift, you may possibly suffer from:
Immediately after the procedure, an adhesive bandage or sports bra is applied to provide more support and comfort. The bandage prevents excessive movement.
2 weeks after the procedure, there is a check-up consultation during which the bandage is removed. During this consultation, the threads are removed.
The price is from €5 500 including VAT.
After breast augmentation, you may possibly suffer from:
Pain and swelling are normal in the first weeks after surgery and gradually reduce. Full healing may take several months, after which the final results will be visible.
For a pleasant and speedy recovery, we apply an adhesive bandage or sports bra immediately after surgery to provide support and comfort. The bandage prevents excessive movement and ensures the prostheses stay in place.
2 weeks after the procedure, there will be a check-up consultation during which the dressing will be removed. During this consultation, the wires are removed and Dr Decoene examines the position of the prostheses and the swelling of the mammary gland. After the check-up consultation, the surgical scars may remain uncovered.
