Pigment or age spots

Many people experience pigmentation spots from a certain age onwards. It occurs when the skin contains too much pigment, which will result in dark, usually round or oval spots on the skin. As causes of pigmentation or age spots, we remember excessive sun exposure, natural ageing and possibly hormonal changes in the body.
Most spots appear on the hands, face, arms and shoulders. Although pigment spots are usually harmless, it is important to have them checked regularly, especially if they suddenly change in size, colour or texture, as this may indicate skin cancer.
Preventively, we can do something about them. For instance, excessive exposure to sunlight should be avoided. Always use a sunscreen with SPF of min 30 . Frequent tanning sessions are also out of the question.
Tired of those annoying dark spots? Then book an appointment at I Care Clinic now and we will lay down a personalised treatment plan to remove your pigment/age spots. With a medical facial or laser treatment, we almost always achieve very favourable results.
