Gummy smile

A gum smile or Gummy Smile is a smile where (too) much gum is visible. Many people are annoyed by this in themselves and in some cases it can lead to a feeling of embarrassment when smiling.

Gummy smile is related to the construction of the face: in particular, a short curling muscle of the upper lip (m. orbicularis oris) and hyperactive muscle that lifts the upper lip ( m. Levator labii inferioris al nasi). Tooth length and bite do not play a role in the occurrence of gummy smile.

Gummy smile can be bothersome in daily life and at work. Many people with a high smile line look for a solution through which their appearance can be improved. As an exercise, they stand in front of the mirror and try to smile less distinctly. This works for a while on command but in real life it remains difficult to control your smile.

At I Care Clinic, we apply botox to improve gummy smile. Book an appointment now to regain a natural and infectious smile.
